Bio:

His name, D.A., is actually stands for both of his nick names: Double-@; which is his poetry alias from the initials of his name, and Don Adonis; the name used for his work in scripts or anything concerning being in front or behind a camera. D.A. is his music artist name, and it sticks since music is his main course of work and his strong suit.

Adonis has been writing for literally as long as he can remember. He recalls taking high-lighter markers and writing down verses to his favorite songs as if he was featured on them. Artists including Heavy D, Kris Kross, MC Lyte, even a few TLC tracks. He also remembers the first song he wrote in its entity, which was a song about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each verse personifying each character on the show. He was only 8 or 9 years old.

Growing up in Detroit, living in a full house with 10 people, really taught Adonis to have fun on his own. Everybody was always busy or had their own agenda, so writing was like a 3rd best friend (next to Sega Genisis and action figures). By the time Adonis got into 6th grade, he was already drawing his own comics, writing poems and coming up with his own story lines. In High School, Adonis was called upon by directors of school events to display his poetry talent. He even wrote, directed and stared in a short film entitled "The Rosary". (search for it on Google)

By the time 12th grade came around, Adonis had really made up his mind about being serious about pursuing a career in writing, either poetry or music. He wrote an entire poetry book with 66 poems. He developed himself as an artist and a musician during this time, using both his personal experiences and his wild imagination to pour his heart out on paper. He also began recording music. To date, he has about 250 songs floating around the internet. He is one half of the rap dup P.I.T. (Poetically Inclined Thinkaz), and his old rough material can be found at www.soundclick.com/pitwuzhere.

D.A. has been doing his thing as far as putting pencil to paper goes for a LONG time...and it doesn't look like he's going to cool off anytime soon. Join him in his new journey with the other Modern Epics...and be astounded every step of the way!
