Bio:

His name, D.A., is actually stands for both of his nick names: Double-@; which is his poetry alias from the initials of his name, and Don Adonis; the name used for his work in scripts or anything concerning being in front or behind a camera. D.A. is his music artist name, and it sticks since music is his main course of work and his strong suit.

Adonis has been writing for literally as long as he can remember. He recalls taking high-lighter markers and writing down verses to his favorite songs as if he was featured on them. Artists including Heavy D, Kris Kross, MC Lyte, even a few TLC tracks. He also remembers the first song he wrote in its entity, which was a song about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each verse personifying each character on the show. He was only 8 or 9 years old.

Growing up in Detroit, living in a full house with 10 people, really taught Adonis to have fun on his own. Everybody was always busy or had their own agenda, so writing was like a 3rd best friend (next to Sega Genisis and action figures). By the time Adonis got into 6th grade, he was already drawing his own comics, writing poems and coming up with his own story lines. In High School, Adonis was called upon by directors of school events to display his poetry talent. He even wrote, directed and stared in a short film entitled "The Rosary". (search for it on Google)

By the time 12th grade came around, Adonis had really made up his mind about being serious about pursuing a career in writing, either poetry or music. He wrote an entire poetry book with 66 poems. He developed himself as an artist and a musician during this time, using both his personal experiences and his wild imagination to pour his heart out on paper. He also began recording music. To date, he has about 250 songs floating around the internet. He is one half of the rap dup P.I.T. (Poetically Inclined Thinkaz), and his old rough material can be found at www.soundclick.com/pitwuzhere.

D.A. has been doing his thing as far as putting pencil to paper goes for a LONG time...and it doesn't look like he's going to cool off anytime soon. Join him in his new journey with the other Modern Epics...and be astounded every step of the way!

Writers'Block

Her name is Taylor Darden. Born 5/14/1991. She was born and raised on the Eastside of Michigan. Growing up in poverty. Taylor aka Writers Block was intrigued by the flow of poetry. Writers'Block has been writing poetry since she was 10 years old. What inspires her are her past life experiences and mainly any experience. After losing her step-dad to diabetes's because he didn't have the proper health insurance that she would make sure his death was not in vane. Taylor Calls herself Writers Block because she feels that what she writes about and how she phrases the things she says well cause you to rethink what your writing about, have more thought put into and give you difficulty producing new work. Hense what the actual definition for writers block actually is. Writers'Block also takes interest in Creative Writing, Public Speaking, and Writing Children stories. Writiers'Block has many trials through out life. Especially, after going through a life threatening accident at the age of 12 that almost ended the young writers life. Though, Writers'Block says " that her life threatening experience has given her a different outlook on life and inspire a lot of her work" she must admit that the trials and tribulations are straining on the young writer. After having a conversation with her father, she realized that Poetry and Creative writing was what she would want to do for the rest of her life. She says shes not looking for the fame and fortune shes just looking for the happiness and joy she gets out of doing what she loves. She said if it wasn't for her parents inspiring words she may have chosen the right career path for herself. Writer's Block created Modern'Epics with fellow Writer D.A after he read the title of her poetry book. Some of Writers'Blocks biggest influences are Maya Angelou, Shel Silverstien, E.E. Cummings, Lupe Fiasco, and Emily Dickerson. If you would like to get into contact with this Writer her contact information is.
